The Volkswagen brand is working on new electric vehicles all the time. If one of these new EVs catches your eye, you're probably going to need an EV charging station of your own. These vehicles are just like your phone and other electronic devices, meaning that they can run out of battery. A charging station can keep your EV topped off so that you can keep driving around.

Here's why the EV experts at Patrick Volkswagen recommend a charging station of your own.

Charging is Faster

A regular outlet will charge your EV, but it's going to take a while. This is referred to as Level 1 charging. Your car is going to get a few miles of range back per hour, but that might not cut it for some drivers. Depending on how much you use your electric vehicle, you could end up losing more and more charge over time, finally ending up with a completely empty battery that's going to take a long time to charge.

A home charging station gives you a different plug to use and Level 2 charging tech. This type of charging can add more miles in a charging session, allowing you to completely recharge an empty battery overnight.

Less Worry About Range

Because you're almost always getting into a fully charged EV, you don't have to worry about driving range as much. You can just enjoy your Volkswagen vehicle without wondering if you're going to run out of electric power when you're out and about. Installing a home EV charger costs money upfront, but it pays for itself in peace of mind.
