I’ve been dealing with a recurring issue since I got my car: the driver-side windshield wiper doesn’t stay in contact with the windshield. The dealer replaced the wiper blade and arm, eventually determining that the windshield itself needed to be replaced due to a defect. This was back in April, and I was told I’d be contacted once the new windshield arrived and the installer was available. I never heard anything, even after leaving a voicemail in late spring. When I called for my 20,000-mile service, I asked about the windshield and was given an appointment with a loaner car. I also requested a fix for a sticking blend door on the driver’s side, check the wireless charger (which has overheated my phone multiple times), and look into an intermittent warning about the passenger-side headlamp. Upon picking up my car, I was told the windshield hadn’t been replaced. Instead, they installed another new wiper blade and washed the windshield, which they claimed fixed the problem. However, the dealer had already replaced the blade AND ARM, and I’ve tried multiple brands without any improvement. I’ve also cleaned the windshield extensively with different products. I was told Volkswagen wouldn’t approve the replacement without video and photos, but I explained that a technician had documented the issue back in April, and I had returned specifically for pictures and video. I was informed there was no record of this, and therefore a warranty fix couldn’t be done. Patrick Volkswagen Service misled me; I was told in April that a warranty replacement was confirmed. I made my appointment based on the supposed warranty repair and availability of the windshield installer. They even suggested taking my car into a rain bath in the service bay to test the repair. I explained that the issue occurs while driving. It became clear they weren’t aware of this. Had they been honest from the start, I could have shared the specifics of the issue, including how it happens in motion and the various cleaning products and aftermarket blades I’ve used. Ironically, it rained two of the three days my car was in their shop—ideal for diagnosing the problem. I was told multiple times that these issues stemmed from previous technicians and service writers no longer with the company. However, the responsibility lies with Patrick’s management for not hiring knowledgeable staff. Lying to customers to cover up their failures is unacceptable. Regarding the other issues, the blend door is still sticking. I sent images showing the HVAC set to 60-62 degrees while the driver’s side vents blew hot air at 135 degrees, while the passenger side remained at 62. They deemed both the charger and headlamp functional at the time, but the recent infotainment system update broke the satellite radio antenna connection. When I first picked up my car, there were several chips in the paint (dealer missed it pre-delivery) that was promised to be fixed to “showroom condition.” It took three attempts and several weeks for their body shop to address it properly, with initial repairs being completely visible—just more evidence of systemic incompetence at Patrick VW. I’ll be scheduling the blend door and infotainment repairs at Patrick, primarily because it’s where I purchased the car.

Sarah was amazing, more people will come back to the dealership because of her. Although needing to get your tire plugged isn't the biggest, time consuming catastrophe that can happen to your vehicle but Sarah treated my problem with as much importance on a busy Saturday morning as all the customers with most likely "bigger issues". I was able to bring my vehicle down, have my tire plugged, car washed and sent out the door with the piece of mind that my car was safe to drive. It would have been easy for her send me elsewhere for such a small issue on a busy Saturday, but she didn't. She welcomed me to come down, fit me in and took care of everything. She is an amazing asset to your team,

We were told the car would be ready at 4:00, but didn't even get a call until about 3:45 about the costs and additional concerns the techs found. We then needed to leave the car overnight and rearrange our plans.

I was the only person there, and waited 2 hours and 15 minutes for just an oil change.
